Why is my Lucky Bamboo plant sprouting crazy amounts of leaves?

Can you answer tallpaulmwp's question about Bamboo?:

i have a lucky bamboo and its shooting out leaves in overdrive. i keep watering it - it keeps drinking all the water - and it doesn't grow any higher just more and more leaves shoot out of the two "branches". like its real short and has over 12 leaves - some are pretty big too. whats going on? and they are starting to turn yellow at the tips…why?

Well I'm not sure why it's growing so many leaves, but I do know the leaves are turning yellow because you are over watering it. Slow down on the watering. Maybe this will help.

yellow tips i think means sunburn or some nutrient loss. Maybe its the way you have it pruned that stops it from growing.

Growing is what bamboo does. The yellow tips mean it isnt getting nutrients. It needs to be fed.

There are two concerns. The first involves your potting soil. Secondly, your plant is receiving an over supply of nitrogen. Take a close look at the fertilizer you're using. N-P-P refers to your blend. If you are not fertilizing, it means the problem is definetly in your potting soil, exclusively.

Try liquid organic fertilizers and plant the roots more deeply.

We hope this helps.
