Keeping Money In Your Bank Account When You Decorate
Who says that decorating your home has to be expensive? Where is the rule that says all decorations have to be original artwork? Where is the rule that says you need a single cohesive theme when you decorate your home? Many families find that using more than one color scheme is a great idea. Lots of families are able to create beautiful homes on a tight budget. Creating a beautiful home can be done cheaply. There is no need to hire a professional decorator to put together a beautiful home for you and your family. Here is some advice for people who want beautiful homes but don't want to spend a lot of money to make them that way. By the way, we highly advise you to pick up a Fein Multimaster Top and some Fein Multimaster blades, it is without a doubt the best DIY tool around.
Ignore the expensive galleries. Don't worry about buying original art just yet (though you could always make it yourself). Instead of original pieces, look for prints of your favorite works. Prints are less expensive than original works of art. Art prints are cheaper and easier to deal with than original artworks. Prints are usually made in standard sizes which makes the framing of them easy-you can even do the framing yourself. You can easily frame your own prints-all you have to do is find a frame you like (even better if it is on sale). Buying prints isn't just a cheaper way to decorate your home it is a less stressful way to deal with the decorating process-you can do the framing on your own schedule and it is cheaper than hiring a professional to do it for you. Paint. The idea behind painting in new colors is to use neutral tones for the majority of your walls so that other things will stand out. When you paint the majority of your home in neutral tones it is easier to choose your decorative items because you won't have to worry about anything clashing with the wall. Painting a single wall in a brighter color is a good idea as well. These are called accent walls and they are very popular right now. Accent walls are cheap to make (they rarely use a lot of paint) and you can paint them yourself in an afternoon! Repainting becomes less of a chore when you use accent walls because you only have to repaint the single wall instead of the rest of your home.
You probably have a lot of knick knacks and dust catchers and other decorative gifts that people have given you. We all have a few decorative items that we keep hidden away and only display when the person who gave them to us comes over. Is it possible to use them for decoration full time? You don't have to keep them on display for ever and ever but they can be decorative while you save up for other pieces that you like. Not only will displaying gifted items save you money and time with your home decorating project, it will save you worry and embarrassment if the person who gave the items to you shows up and wants to know why the beautiful plate they gave you isn't on display! It is easy to get bogged down by the idea that decorating is expensive but the truth is that it does not have to be expensive at all. Decorating ideas are everywhere-just look at the homes of your friends. It is a good idea to look at the decorations you like and think "I can do that for less money." Decorating can easily be done inexpensively. Many people find that they don't spend a single dollar when they decorate! Last but not least, don't forget to check out the Fein MultiMaster FMM, it is a great tool!
