I have a bamboo plant in a vase with water. How do I cut "sprouts" from the main and make more?

Can you answer Suzy Q's question about Bamboo?:

I have bamboo in a vase with water growing. How do I make more "sprouts" by removing some of the growth and putting it in water. I've never had bamboo to do this with. I've done it with other kind of houseplants by transplanting the little ones into water till they sprouted roots, then planted them in pots with soil. Anyone out there ever done bamboo?

Just cut and put in water. They are really easy.

This will tell you all you need to know about your bamboo.
