Is growing bamboo a good method for controlling soil erosion?
Answered By Belinda Aldworth, Editor
Bamboos are very adaptive plant. It is maybe
because of its being a grass. The roots of a
bamboo extend at about 2 meters from the
center of its stem and extend downward for
about 4 to 5 meters deep. With that numbers,
bamboo roots can strengthen the soil
surrounding it making it a good plant in
controlling soil erosion.
