What is the difference between horizontal and vertical bamboo flooring?

Answered By Belinda Aldworth, Editor

Horizontal and vertical bamboo flooring is the final appearance of the bamboo flooring. It can also be the way the grains are put together to form bamboo flooring. Horizontal flooring retains the bamboo-look in the tiles made. The nodes of the bamboo can still be noticed in horizontal grain bamboo flooring. Vertical bamboo flooring on the other hand is the complete opposite of the Horizontal one. The nodes of the usual unprocessed bamboo can no longer be observed in the vertical grain bamboo.
