All about bamboo flooringBy Jakob Jelling There are two different ways that you can purchase bamboo floors, depending on how easy you want the installation to be. For instance, if you are looking for a quick and simple installation, then you should go with the bamboo flooring that is sold in already put together blocks. This way, all you have to do is purchase a few of the solid squares of bamboo, and put them down on your floor. The installation will be much quicker. However, if you want a better look to your floor and you don't mind either doing more work on your own, or paying somebody else to do extra work for you, you can also purchase the bamboo in planks. This will be just like installing a hardwood floor! Bamboo generally will have the grains running in one of two directions - either the grains will run with the length of the planks, or they will run sideways across it. Which type of floor you want will depend entirely on your own taste regarding the bamboo. Most bamboo floors will have a light yellowish brown color to them. This is due to the actual color of the bamboo that was used to make the floor. However, this does not mean that that is the only floor color choice you have with bamboo. It is also possible to steam and heat up the bamboo so that it changes color to a darker, medium brown. If you're looking for a less expensive and more environmentally friendly alternative to hardwood floors, look no further. A bamboo floor will give your home a classy, upscale feel - and itll be fire and insect resistant as well!
